PALM DESERT, CA — Authorities Friday were investigating the apparent shooting death of a man in Palm Desert. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of several shots fired the 43000 block of Tennessee Avenue at 10:21 p.m. Thursday, according to Sgt. Ed Baeza. Deputies arrived to find a man lying dead in the street with trauma that indicated a homicide. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin. A suspect was not immediately identified. Anyone with information regarding the investigation was urged to call Investigator Chua of the Palm Desert Sheriff Station at 760-836-1600.
