singer looking for bandmates

YES, this IS a total long-shot, BUT... I've recently moved to Santa Barbara from Oakland and I'm looking to connect musically with others here. I can write and am mostly looking to sing. However, I could also play guitar and might play other instruments as needed (bass, keys). I previously recorded a CD and can share my songs with interested folks. I am open to more or less any genre but the music I'm attracted to working with is original, loud, unexpected, alive, and possibly a bit dangerous. The songs should be able to get up off their haunches and slink over to claw a cheek or curl up at your feet with a sigh. Just a few bands I have listened to over and over and over (none of which I sound like), in somewhat historical order: the Cure, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, the Birthday Party (Nick Cave), the Pixies, Fugazi, Black Sabbath, Fela Kuti, Nina Simone, Nick Drake, Portishead, Massive Attack. Yeah. I'm 49! I will not qualify that, so there. I would love to hear from you...
