New Honky-Tonk Band Forming

Meets

Norfolk MA

Description

Experienced drummer (50s) forming band with a vintage honky-tonk/classic country focus. Covers, but open to adding well-crafted originals if you have some. This is a cover band and not a “copy” band, so there will be room for creativity, our own arrangements, etc. Will consider M and/or F lead vocals, but preference is for mostly female lead vox. Seeking the following advanced/pro-quality musicians: • Female lead vocalist – Could include covers by Linda Ronstadt, Eileen Jewell, Emmylou Harris, Whitney Rose, Loretta Lynn, Margo Price, Tammy Wynette, Lucinda Williams, Patsy Cline, etc. If you play an instrument, even better, but not necessary. • Bass – upright and/or electric. • Keys or Accordion (if you play both, even better!) • Versatile guitarist familiar with these styles who has the right instruments and amp(s) for this music. You should probably have a Telecaster in your stable of guitars, and an amp with tubes. You should know who Don Rich is. • Pedal or lap steel, and/or fiddle. Vocals with harmony skills, as always, is a plus. There will be opportunities for male lead vocals (think Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakam, Glenn Campbell, Merle Haggard, Dale Watson, Johnny Paycheck, David Allen Cole, The Derailers, etc.). Rehearsals in Norfolk (near Foxboro & Walpole), perhaps weekly at first, then reduce to twice monthly depending on gig schedule, etc. Shooting for once or twice monthly. Please be reliable, excellent at your craft, and without substance abuse issues or drama. Be prepared and professional, but this should be fun. No problems with having a couple of drinks, but not ok to be sloppy while playing. Please send sound files of your playing – preferably something in a style as mentioned above, and or video (preferred). A recent picture would be helpful if no video. After we connect, I will share a playlist with some options for audition songs. Thanks for your interest. Steve
