At least 2 yrs experience in a construction environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and verbal communication skills - English speaking. Experience with construction clean-up and misc. handyman type tasks. Highly motivated and goal oriented self starter. Attention to detail, very organized to achieve maximum accuracy and efficiency. Work well with others. Computer literate. Responsibilities: Read and interpret plans, instructions and specifications to determine work activities. Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery and tools and distribute them to appropriate locations according to plans and specifications. Measure, mark and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. Control traffic passing near, in and around work zones. Provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers and masons. Dig trenches, manually back-fill trenches. Operate jackhammers and/or drills to break up concrete or pavement. Assist with framing walls. Perform drywall repairs - patch/paint, perform paint touch-ups, paint doors/trim. Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns Grind scape, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete, marble, terrazzo or wood flooring using abrasive tools or machines. Hang blinds/shutters. Maintain jobsite tools, properly put tools away when not in use. Pick-up all trash and construction debris, sweep and/or mop to maintain a clean and safe construction site. Run errands for Superintendent, Project Manager, Vice President or President as directed - Pick-up plans or materials.
