Jason Weems (Last Comic Standing, HBO, Fox) headlines Stand Up Silver Spring Improbable Comedy presents Stand Up Silver Spring on January 1st, 2022 at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre. Jason Weems is a Baltimore based stand-up comedian who has been featured on NBC’S Last Comic Standing, Fox, and HBO. He is a high energy comedian and audiences drive from hours away just to enjoy his stand up. Jason brings everything to the stage when he performs. He taped his one hour special, Unknown, on December 2018 after a near death experience at a comedy show in 2017. On May 23, 2017 he died after a performance in Philadelphia. No pulse. No heartbeat. 5-minutes. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. The comic, who just hours earlier, was being applauded by a Philadelphia audience now laid unconscious and unidentified in Hahnemann University Hospital. This life-altering experience re-ignited his drive to never allow his talents or the city he represents to be Unknown again. Snacks and drinks are sold in the lobby before the show and at intermission. Accessibility: The Black Box is ADA compliant, completely wheelchair accessible, has handicap stalls in all bathrooms, and has both headphone and loop assisted listening devices connected to the theatre’s sound system. Covid Protocol: The Black Box Theatre will follow the guidelines set forth by the Montgomery County. Currently, the theatre requires a temperature check, proof of vaccination and mask wearing when not actively eating or drinking. These will be updated here for review at any time by audience members.
