Award-winning band, AJ Lee and Blue Summit, made their first appearance in Santa Cruz in 2015. Led by singer, songwriter, and mandolinist, AJ Lee, the bluegrass band has performed all over the world, but found home in California’s Bay Area. Drawing from influences such as country, soul, swing, rock, and jam music, the band uses the lens of bluegrass as a vessel through which to express and explore the thread that binds and unifies all great music.“AJ Lee & Blue Summit are pure, beautiful American music. All of the reggae-styled rhythms, the electrifying guitar solos, chest thumping drum fills, groovy bass lines, and gentle yet powerful vocals are coming from him, in his self-produced, home made record. This multi-talented artist's upbringing in Southern California has definitely had an influence on his surf/rock style of music. This fusion of Hendrix and Santana's flower power rock and roll, with a touch of Bob Marley's anthemic songwriting is truly unique.
