Description
Liberation starts with land. Support a young urban farmer and video artist’s endeavor to land ownership. Engage with her latest experimental film and enjoy a night filled with music, art, food, and uplifting energy. Project description: The food system relies on oppression. Since beginning my career as a farmer in 2017, I’ve yet to meet a farmer, gardener, or food grower who isn’t overworked. Growing food for profit exploits the land, land workers, and all the food workers in between. We need justice. We need more growing spaces centered around education where people learn about how to care for the land, and therefore themselves. Abolish the food system and grow food. Let’s create educational growing spaces in nature, away from the city without the pressure of profit for produce. In 2022, I'll be acquiring 25.52 acres of land located in Chateaugay, NY through a private sale to create land based educational agricultural programing. Interested to find out my plans for the land? This is the best public transit option as the New Rochelle station is simply a 3 minute walk from the from the venue located at 49 Lawton St, New Rochelle, NY.
