Create an expressive painting with a variety of mixed media techniques. DCSD Teachers: Come spend a fun evening creating an abstract expressive painting that will create a window into your soul. Inspired by the work of Tracy Verdugo, this project involves created a series of artistic layers with different techniques that help you discover the unique elements of your own personality! This project can be adapted for your classroom and can be broken into smaller mini-lessons that naturally integrate into a variety of subjects. Everything will be supplied for you. Elizabeth Sampson is the District Arts Coordinator, BTS/ALP professional development partner and BTS/ALP Arts Coach for the BTS/ALP specialists and classroom teachers in the Duchesne County School District.  She teaches Visual Art at Union High School and is a member of the Utah Art Education Association, National Art Education Association, Council for Art Education and the Utah Association for Gifted Children.  Elizabeth is the Utah Youth Art Month chairperson and she is passionate about improving the quality of education for all the students providing training in arts integration and  research based best practice for educators. Elizabeth has received national awards for her work in Youth Art Month.
