The Watchmaker’s Song is a jazzy & interactive re-imagination of the classic story of the The Nutcracker Ventana Ballet & Red Nightfall Productions bring back The Watchmaker’s Song, an interactive re-imagining of the story of The Nutcracker. For the first time ever, we are going ON TOUR BRINGING THE MAGIC TO COMFORT, TEXAS ON DECEMBER 4TH!“To be so close to something you know so well from afar is to see it anew,” Robert Faires wrote of the 2019 production at the Neill-Cochran House for The Austin Chronicle. “It is magical, and in a way, that is all this show's own.” Upon entering the cozy, dimly lit courtyard of the Ingenhuett on High, guests can grab a seasonal cocktail and immerse themselves in this enchanted holiday tale. Enjoy some pop-up performances before a mysterious character, The Watchmaker himself, emerges from the crowd and invites the attendees to follow him inside the historic building. Just inside, the party dancers invite the guests to join in a holiday swing-dancing party set to Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s jazz rendition of the original Tchaikovsky Nutcracker music. Guests can enjoy a holiday party and pop-up performances inside this historic General Store turned Bank turned Post Office turned Wedding Venue. The Watchmaker’s Song is a whimsical version of the Nutcracker holiday favorite that engages the audience in both the traditional components of the Nutcracker Ballet and also some elements of the original story by E.T.A. Hoffman. The event culminates with a special finale of ethereal characters before the audience exits back to High Street, returning to the real world. In the 2019 Austin version of the production, Faires wrote, “Granted, it's a long way from battling evil mice under the Christmas tree and taking a magic sleigh to the Land of Snow, but threaded throughout all this updated fun—and it is fun—are nods to the original ballet.” Choose from two showings: December 4 at 5pm December 4 at 7pm General Admission Tickets $40 Looking for the Austin event?
