A queer, BIPOC space to work on goals, passions, & connect w/ other dope queers doing dope things! QUEER AS IN FUCK YOU PAY US! ABOUT THE EVENT Queer Career Nights is a safe space for queer Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) to work on passion projects and career goals while meeting other dope queers doing dope things! It is first and foremost an intentionally TRANS INCLUSIVE space that aims to provide BIPOC folks with a community of support to reach their personal career goals and passions! All career paths, backgrounds, and levels are welcome! We know all too well how stressful and frustrating it can be to be on the job hunt while being continuously underpaid and underemployed as a trans and queer BIPOC person. It’s even more frustrating when the only queer representation in the workplace only seeks to emulate the white, cis hetero patriarchy *eye roll.* Consequently, we’re definitely not your normal career support group! WE AIM TO: Provide a low stress environment for folks to connect with other queer and trans BIPOC folks. Provide resources for resumes cover letters, post graduate opportunities and more with an approach towards mindfulness Offer a guest speaker series by other queer, BIPOC pros on how to finesse the white mans to get that $$chmoney Have folks lift-as-they-rise by sharing career resources, side hustle ideas, and support! OUR TEAM Mo (she/they) - a Black, pansexual Taurus femme as well as SELF TAUGHT software developer and owner of an eyebrow microblading business. A baddie IRL. According to Papí Solis, “She’s so hot in everything she does.” Loves video games, cosplay, anime, and motorcycles. Has a life long scar from going too hard at a Rico Nasty concert. Papí Solis (they/them) - a non,binary, trans masc Latine Sagittarius with a passion for multimedia communications, quitting every job they’ve ever had, and scuba diving. The Capricorn in them saves them. literally. 1 of 15 Fulbright Binational Business Scholars in the U.S. DOES NOT DREAM OF LABOR!!! Favorite food is carne asada fries. D (he/they) - A queer Virgo with a Master’s Degree in Post Secondary Education from Columbia University and another degree in How to Make you Say His Name. Literally does it all (the Virgo is strong with this one) - works at Harvard and MIT, then goes to his part time at Equinox, and also compiled multiple excel sheets for this.
