Description

Nashville rock songwriter Jeff Ruby will be performing a solo acoustic show of original music. Jeff Ruby’s heartfelt songs are inspired by a lifetime’s worth of observation of experience. As a solo artist, the Indiana born troubadour tells stories of hard living, societal issues, and perseverance. Over the course of four full length albums, he has revealed himself to be a songwriter with rare authenticity and grace. Jeff grew up on a farm in rural Indiana. Music gave him a connection to the outside world. He was drawn to moody Seattle grunge bands and anthemic Brit-pop acts, both of which would become key influences on his style. As a teenager, Jeff spent endless hours teaching himself to play guitar and writing his first songs. After high school, Jeff drifted away from the guitar and began pursuing a Business Degree from Indiana University. Fueled by an early run of success in the stock market, he began drinking recklessly while letting his interest in music be replaced by an interest in the finance world. After a few years, the lifestyle left him entirely burnt out and looking to reconnect with his passion for music. In 2004, Jeff relocated to Orange Beach, Alabama where he promptly quit drinking and began writing songs that would launch his career. He became a regular performer at a local bar, where he cut his teeth and developed the confidence to pursue music full time. Eventually, Jeff moved up to Nashville, armed with little more than a guitar and a handful of songs. He quickly integrated with the songwriter community, recording his first EP ‘Beyond The Pale’ in 2010. Since then, he has maintained a prolific run of performances and albums, revealing new sides to his artistry with every release.
