The City of Roanoke is excited to welcome back our popular and fun gingerbread house building contest! Gumdrops and icing and gingerbread, oh my! Nothing says Happy Holidays like a gingerbread house. Relive one of your favorite childhood memories while at the same time creating new ones with your kids. The City of Roanoke is hosting its very popular Gingerbread Building Contest for kids and adults. Join us in our holiday tradition and make those memories with us! Guidelines: a pre-built gingerbread house will be given to each participant along with all candy supplies and all building tools. Each competitor will get the same amount of decorations. No additional candy decorations may be brought to the competition. Competitors may design for up to 45 minutes. Judging will occur immediately after each competition round. A panel of independent judges have been procured to manage and judge the event. Prizes will be awarded and the gingerbread houses will be boxed for take home delivery. Contestants have until the end of the festival to pick up their gingerbread houses. The contest will be located in front of City Hall, 500 S. Oak St. Roanoke, TX. Please arrive to City Hall 15 minutes prior to your age group's scheduled competition time.
