This Wild Life ALL AGES This Wild Life Taylor Acorn, Arrows in Action Doors 7:00pm Ever Blossom. Our fourth full length record, but a first in two major ways. Our first independent release post Epitaph Records and our first self produced and engineered record. This album took an entire year to create because we were learning how to engineer as we made it. Making an album in a bedroom as opposed to a commercial recording studio presented many challenges, but we were committed to making a diy record that would stand up to the quality of our previous albums. Recording drums in a 10x10 spare room was comical, but tracking every drum one by one (while air drumming the other parts to keep time) became the new way to create. I've recorded demos for over a decade but Anthony had literally never recorded anything. He dove right in and learned the craft of recording guitar and bass through trial and error, it was super inspiring. Although Ever Blossom is the most DIY record we've ever made, in some ways it was the most collaborative as well. For instruments we're not savvy with, we enlisted the help of gifted friends to feature their talents like Calvin Langman of the Happy Fits performing cello and full string arrangements, William Ryan Key producing orchestral arrangements, Sky Acord of Twenty One Pilots playing bass, and Jason Suwito of Sir Sly on piano. Lyrically, Ever Blossom is looking back at the past decades and how the people and experiences in my life have shaped the man I am today, for better and for worse. The title Ever Blossom is about my own human spirit. To continue to grow despite struggle, to refuse to quit. I think that very much represents the spirit of This Wild Life.
