Our organization contracts with a Call Center that receives phone or internet based requests for location information of the underground utilities of our members. That Call Center, in turn, notifies our member underground facility owners when and where your excavation is to take place so they can mark the location of their underground facilities and mark their location utilizing colored flags, whiskers, or paint. The Montana Utilities Coordinating Council (MUCC) is a non-profit organization that consists of essentially the same members of Montana811.org with the addition of contractors to help coordinate underground facility owners joint concerns and safe excavation around the state of Montana. Each year Montana811.org and MUCC conduct training regarding the rules, regulation, and recommendations regarding the One-Call / Call Before You Dig System and safe excavation during the slow excavation months of January, February and March.
