Description
Join us on a tour to explore why Daystar Academy might be a great fit for your family! Join us for an in-person tour of Daystar Academy, and discover why Daystar could be the best school choice for your family. This is the first step in our admissions process. Students in grades 6 - 12 are welcome to join the tour. In the younger grades, we ask that only parents attend. On the tour you will: - learn about student-life during a typical day, see how Daystar takes a hands-on approach to learning, and discover more about our inquiry-based educational approach as outlined by the International Baccalaureate framework - hear from Tami Doig, Head of School, on why Daystar's unique approach to how you learn, what you learn and who you learn with means a better education for every student and creates adults the world needs - learn about how Daystar provides students with high-quality in-person learning and what safety protocols have been implemented to keep our kids safe - have the opportunity to ask your questions and voice your concerns about what is important as you search for the right fit for your family. The tour will begin with an introduction about our school's philosophy and then be split into two groups where we will cover the PYP (Grades PK - 5) and the MYP/DP (Grades 6 - 12.) We hope you'll join us! COVID Information: Your attendance at the tour indicates that you or anyone you have been in contact with 1. does not have symptoms of COVID, 2. has not had recent exposure to COVID, and 3. is not awaiting COVID test results. While in the building, please wear a mask over your nose and mouth. Your cooperation is appreciated as we work hard to keep our students safe. Daystar Academy is a faith-based, culturally-engaged, globally-minded Pre-K through 12th grade International Baccalaureate World School in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. Our Primary, Middle Years and Diploma Programs benefit from our commitment to small class sizes, racial and socio-economic diversity and hands-on learning. We use the city as our classroom, taking 10-15 learning excursions throughout the year to expand and enhance learning. Daystar has been serving children in Chicago for 25years.
