1 Person Dies After Fire Sweeps Through Tampa Mobile Home

TAMPA, FL — A resident died after a fire swept through a mobile home in the Lazy Acres Mobile Home Park late Thursday night. According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, 911 was notified of the fire at 11:56 p.m. at the mobile home park at 14011 N. Nebraska Ave. in Tampa. When fire crews arrived at 12.01 a.m., they found a double-wide mobile home fully involved. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one home with only minor damage to an adjacent home. Two adults lives in the mobile home. One escaped with no injuries and the other died. The Red Cross was called to assist the surviving resident. The mobile home was a total loss. Because of the death, the state fire marshal's office has been called to investigate the cause.
