WAUWATOSA, WI—A proposal for an upscale apartment development in Wauwatosa has revised its plans for a parking lot site. Harlow & Hem, developed by Mandel Group Inc. for the parking lot site located at 1330 N. Wauwatosa Ave. Mandel Group Inc. revised designs to increase it to 130 apartments, including 26 affordable units instead of 18, according to a Milwaukee Business Journal report. The approved plans in February included 89 apartment units contained in a three and four-story building. The multi-family building was knit between the townhome units and State Street Station and included studio through three-bedroom units. 4 two-story townhomes lining Harwood Avenue was proposed to replace the Swan Interiors building at 7487 Harwood Avenue. The new plans take out the 4 two-story townhouses originally planned to line Harwood Avenue, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported. More green space has been added to the project, the report said. Patch reached out to the Mandel Group and the City of Wauwatosa on Friday afternoon. The city issued a request for proposals last year for the site, known as the Blanchard Street parking lot. Harlow & Hem was selected over three others that were considered to develop the Blanchard Street parking lot.
