Description

TACOMA, WA — Six dogs are breathing easy Friday thanks to the quick work of Tacoma firefighters. Just before 5 a.m. Friday, Tacoma Fire reported that their crews had been called to a home on fire in the 200 block of E 69th Street. Firefighters say the home was billowing heavy smoke and flames could be seen burning the roof. A fire attack crew was dispatched to try and keep the blaze confined to the attic, while other firefighters searched the building — and found six dogs inside. (Tacoma Fire)The dogs needed oxygen treatment, but as of Tacoma Fire's latest update around 5:30 a.m., five were up and about, and the sixth was still recovering but needed a little extra treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Meanwhile, crews knocked out the fire around five. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
