Basic Function: The Grounds Associate, under the supervision of the Grounds Manager, is responsible for ensuring that Lovett’s expectation for grounds maintenance and service are being met or exceeded by being an active member of the Grounds team. Position involves, but is not limited to, mowing all turf on campus, removing leaves, tree maintenance and removal, trimming and maintaining all shrubs, irrigation maintenance, cleaning and mulching all landscape beds, trash removal on campus, aerating and fertilizing lawns, pesticide application, daily and routine maintenance of landscape grounds equipment, maintaining landscape/grounds as per the established zones, and operating heavy equipment such as front end loaders, backhoe, large trucks, tractors, Bobcat, reel mowers, limb chipper, and other landscape related equipment. Essential Duties: • Perform landscaping duties such as operating mowers, string trimmers, edger’s, blowers, chainsaws and other motorized and non-motorized equipment • Landscape installations and renovations to include all floral displays; read and review landscape design document for implementation • Assist with move and setup as needed for various events on campus • Operate heavy equipment, such as: tractors, Bobcats, and reel mowers • Prune shrubs and trees, water annual flowers, spray weeds, and pick up trash on campus grounds • Apply Pesticides for weeds, insects, and landscape diseases • Emergency response: must be available for storm damage and related emergencies when needed • Snow removal: ice and snow removal from all roadways, sidewalks, and parking lots on campus • Perform daily campus safety walks • Other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent required • Valid driver’s license Must be able to pass a hair drug screening Must have a valid resume Must be able to pass background check Must have at least two references
