Press release from the Howard County Government: 11/11/2021 The driver and sole occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. Howard County police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision overnight in Laurel in which one person was killed. At approximately 2:38 a.m. on Nov. 11, a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling eastbound on Johns Hopkins Road approaching the traffic circle at Gorman Road when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree. The driver and sole occupant, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver's name will be released once next of kin has been notified.
