Bergen County: Apply For Hurricane Ida Relief Through Dec. 6

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Anyone whose residence was damaged or destroyed due to Hurricane Ida now has a few more weeks to apply for disaster relief from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA has extended its deadline to Dec. 6, meaning it's not too late for Bergen County homeowners and renters — as well as residents of other New Jersey counties — to request funding to help pay for disaster-related needs not covered by insurance. Those needs could include rental assistance, essential home repairs, personal property losses and more, FEMA officials said. Multilingual operators are available. FEMA approved a major disaster declaration after Hurricane Ida hit Bergen County in early September. The declaration allowed qualified county residents to request disaster relief aid.
