Marin School District To Hold Documentary Film Screening

NOVATO, CA — The Novato Unified School District next week will hold a screening of a short documentary film addressing hate crimes. The screening of "A Prosecutor's Stand" will be held Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Novato High School's Center for the Arts (625 Arthur Street). The screening is part of the NUSD's participation in United Against Hate Week (Nov. 14-20). The film documents San Francisco District Attorney Victor Hwang's charging perpetrators of racially-motivated crimes. "A Prosecutor's Stand" was produced in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office as part of Not in Our Town, a group that works to make communities safer and more inclusive. A Q&A panel and interactive discussion will follow the screening of the 17-minute film.
