Police Arrest Suspect In Mt. Vernon Double Homicide

By John Gibson, WNIN November 12, 2021 Police have arrested a Mt. Vernon man for the deaths of an elderly couple. Indiana State Police say officers arrested 28-year-old Austin Kusturin in connection with the murder of John and Elizabeth Hall. The ISP said Kusturin was taken into custody without incident outside an apartment in the 500 block of Melody Lane in Mt. Vernon Wednesday night. He's being held without bond in the Posey County Jail on two counts of murder. A family member found John and Elizabeth Hall deceased inside their home in the 700 block Mulberry St. in Mt. Vernon Saturday morning. Authorities have not released any more information, saying only it's an "ongoing investigation." WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
