PETALUMA, CA — Two people were arrested early Thursday in Petaluma in a car reported stolen out of Sacramento, police said.
Around 1:50 a.m., a patrol officer ran a records check on a car in front of him on Old Redwood Highway and the license plate number revealed it was stolen, Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan McGreevy said.
The officer stopped the car and detained the driver, Bailey Bowen, 20, and the passenger, Francisco Yanez, 26, both of Santa Rosa.
Bowen was arrested on suspicion of felony car theft and possession of the stolen vehicle, misdemeanor possession of narcotics, and an outstanding warrant. Because her warrant was issued from the Sonoma County Juvenile Probation Department/Court, Bowen was booked at Juvenile Hall.
Yanez was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of narcotics and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
