SCOTT TOWNSHIP, PA — A suspect is in custody after a man was found dead along railroad tracks Thursday afternoon.
Allegheny County police were summoned to the area, near a homeless camp behind South Hills Self Storage on Creek Street, where paramedics pronounced the victim, Joseph Williams, 70, of Carnegie, dead at the scene. He had been beaten and apparently stabbed.
A short time later, police arrested Vendell Nasir, 28, at the homeless camp. He has been charged with criminal homicide and tampering with or fabricating evidence.
