Description
This event will be a knowledge exchange for members of the North Carolina and South Carolina weightlifting community. The Carolina Olympic Weightlifting Festival will be an event that provides a medium for knowledge exchange among members of the North Carolina and South Carolina weightlifting communities. The event will start out by having a light technique session for weightlifters from 9am - 12pm. This will be an opportunity to warm-up and meet other coaches from around the area. At 12pm the event will provide lunch, and a series of mini talks will take place from 12pm-4pm. These talks will be 10-15 minutes in length from various coaches and athletes around the Carolinas. There will be time for questions and discussion between each mini talk. From 4pm-7pm there will be a heavier training session followed by drinks provided by the event from a local brewery. Location: Harrisburg Weightlifting Club 7501 Caldwell Rd Harrisburg, NC 28075 Schedule: 9am - 9:30am: Opening remarks and hello from Tokyo Olympics 9:30am - 12pm: Light training session for athletes to warm-up and exchange technique cues with coaches around the area 12pm - 4pm: Lunch provided with a series of mini talks by coaches and athletes around the Carolinas 4pm - 7pm: Heavier training session for athletes with coaches around the area in attendance. Drinks will be provided from a local brewery after of age lifters are finished training. 7pm - 7:15pm: Closing remarks If you are interested in giving a mini talk or would like us to reach out to a particular member of our Carolina community to give a mini talk on a particular subject, please reach out to us.
