MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Los Angeles Police Department officers have taken a grand theft auto suspect into custody following a pursuit and search at a Manhattan Beach home. Officers responded to the area near Marine Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard shortly after 6 p.m., Manhattan Beach city officials said. Police were chasing a suspect in a possible stolen white work van south along the 405 Freeway Thursday night when he exited the freeway near Manhattan Beach, NBC4 reports. The driver got stuck on the median near Marine Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard, then jumped out of the car, ran through a business and into a home on 27th Street and Oak Avenue. The unidentified suspect is reportedly hiding in the area of 27th Street and Oak Avenue, according to reports. A K-9 unit was also searching the area. Southbound Sepulveda Boulevard to 33rd Street will be closed during an investigation, city officials said via Twitter. "Please avoid the area," city officials said.
