Think Like Christ Youth Conference 2021 Come join us for our Think Like Christ Youth Conference in Cedar Rapids, IA Think Like Christ Youth Conference 2021 Come join us April 17 2021 for our Think Like Christ Youth Conference Conference will include Worship, Preaching, Workshops, and Games. Lunch will also be provided. Youth Conference is FREE of charge and is for Jr. High and High School aged youth. Youth sponsors and parents are also invited to attend. Also early-bird register by April 1st, 2021 to receiver a FREE shirt. Don't want a free shirt? Pre-registration will be open till morning of conference. Check-in begins at 9:30 AM, April 17th, 2021. Conference will end at 6PM Keynote speakers are: Dr. Nathan Oppman from The Family Leader and Pastor Thomas Osterkamp from Good New Baptist Church Workshops Speakers are: Dr. Nathan Oppman and Pastor Thomas and Lysandra Osterkamp About Nathan Nathan joined The FAMiLY LEADER in 2015, where the mission is to inspire Christlike leadership in the home, church, and government. He has a passion to encourage biblical thinking in our culture. Nathan received a B.A. in political science, an M.A. in history, and an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction from Bob Jones University. Before joining the team at TFL, Nathan gained valuable public policy and worldview teaching experience as the lectures and student intern coordinator at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C.. He also developed business and supervisory skills while working for two years in local branch management of a national car rental company. During two of his graduate years, Nathan had the privilege of teaching history of civilization discussion classes to several hundred undergraduate students and is currently and adjunct at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa where he teaches government and history courses. He speaks to churches, conferences, school and college groups, and others regarding Christian citizenship, history, and developing scripturally sound public policy. Nathan’s interests include sports, historical reading, ministering at his local church, and spending time with his wife. Nathan and his wife, Joy, reside in Des Moines, Iowa. About Thomas and Lysandra Thomas and Lysandra Osterkamp have a heart to reach people where they are with the love of Jesus and help them take their next step in their walk with God. They enjoy sharing the truths of the Bible in an authentic yet practical way, because they believe that it’s not enough for us to know what the Bible says, we have to know what to do with what it says. Thomas and Lysandra serve together at Good News Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, IA where Thomas has been the Lead Pastor for over ten years. They speak regularly across the country and internationally at marriage conferences and retreats, youth camps and conferences, pastor’s conferences, as well as church services and events. Marriage and family are their favorite topics to talk about. They even host a weekly podcast called the Family Meeting that is all about family relationships. Thomas and Lysandra have been together for 24 years and married for 17. They have four daughters, Kathryne, Isabella, Abigail, and Violet Rose. They love to travel and go on family adventures. Out of all the places that they have been and all of the things that they have done, their two favorites are walking on the beach and hiking in the mountains. ****Covid-19 Update. We ask that you do not attend if you have any Covid-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19 in the last 14 days. We will be observing social distancing in the main sessions and workshops. Because of the nature of our games, we cannot guarantee social distancing during game time. You will not be required to participate in games if you do not wish. Masks will not be required, but you are welcome to wear them to the event. We ask that you sit with those you come with during the main sessions to to help lessen exposure.
