Press release from Meridian Community College:
November 12, 2021
Kim Eastman counts her colleagues – her "work family" - as a blessing.
"You couldn't ask for a better group of folks and that makes all the difference in your work environment," she said.
Eastman is the administrative assistant to vice president for workforce solutions and dean of workforce education, Joseph Knight and Lori Smith, respectively. She is also MCCer of the Month for November.
The MCC Foundation sponsors this monthly recognition award to exemplify the College's hardworking employees who go above and beyond the job duties. Honorees receive a commemorative plaque and a $250 cash award.
For five years, Eastman has worked at the College. When asked what she likes best about MCC, she admits it is her co-workers. "On a campus our size, to have so many fabulous and wonderful people to work with and spend your time, few have that. We have so many people here that are always looking for ways to help and serve others."
Strong in her faith, Eastman said the most important event of her life was "the day Jesus Christ saved my soul! Forever changed, forever saved. Eternal life. Thank you, Lord!" And the Scripture from Ephesians 2:4 & 5 serves as a guide for her. "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ - by grace you have been saved."
Eastman, a native of Meridian, and her husband, Joe, have "two wonderful children, Tyler and Baylie. They are both married to our bonus children, Mariah and Micah."
When she's not at the College, Eastman enjoys hiking and baking.
