FRANKFORT, IL — The Illinois Department of Public Health reported Friday in its weekly update that the Frankfort Falcons cheer team had a COVID-19 outbreak involving 16 of the team's members. The outbreak was reported Tuesday to the Illinois Department of Public Health, according to information on its website.
The Frankfort Falcons cheer team is made up of five different divisions of girls in first through eighth grade. It is not clear which divisions were affected by the outbreak.
The Illinois Department of Public Health defines an outbreak as two or more COVID-19 cases among people from different households who may have had a shared exposure, such as at school.
Patch has reached out to the Frankfort Falcons for comment but has not received a response.
