Description

Press release from the Altadena Town Council: 2021-11-10 Los Angeles County Public Works is pleased to announce the start of construction for the phase 1 of the Mount Lowe Drive Median Re-landscaping project. Construction will begin in late November 2021 and, weather permitting, will be completed by Summer 2022. Phase 1 of the project will bring new drought tolerate landscaping to the median, improved pedestrian access with walking paths throughout the median, improved drainage with construction of a bioswale, and other site improvements. Tentatively, on Monday,  November 29, 2021 our contractor for this project will place temporary chain link fencing around the permitter of the median.  Access to the median will be limited during various phases of construction to accommodate construction activities. For your safety, please do not enter any closed off areas. During various phases of work, temporary "NO PARKING" signs may be posted at least 48 hours in advance. During construction, traffic may be restricted for limited periods or the road may be intermittently closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Access to homes will be maintained at all times except for periods of time when it is impractical to do so. Any road closures will end by the end of workday to restore access. For your safety and project success, please observe all traffic controls, detour routes, parking restrictions, and flaggers; and exercise caution while in the vicinity of construction activities. Routine updates for this project will be provided during various phases of construction. If you have any question, please contact  Steven Gutierrez at (626) 300-3233 or [email protected].
