ALTADENA, CA — Residents have spoken during this year's Altadena Town Council election and have chosen to re-elect the incumbents for the eight open seats. The council members will each represent a census tract in Altadena and serve two-year terms. The town council acts as an advisory committee to various Los Angeles County departments, and there are a total of 16 seats on the organization, officials said. Each census tract gets two council members. While the incumbents were re-elected, three of the councilmembers ran unopposed. Three seats had two candidates running, while one seat had three candidates in the race. The eighth seat did not have any candidates. The winners of each race are: Victoria Knapp, representing census tract 4601 Dorothy Wong, representing census tract 4603.01 Sandra Thomas, representing census tract 4603.02 Veronica Jones, representing census tract 4610 Madalyn Barber, representing census tract 4611 Reggie Wilkins, representing census tract 4612 Sylvia Vega, representing census tract 4613 More than 400 people voted in the election, according to town council officials.
