Here are the top stories today in Duluth: The Gwinnett sheriff's office is going to help hand out 2,400 Thanksgiving meals from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. on November 22 at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds on Sugarloaf Parkway. This is in an effort to help families have a meal together this Thanksgiving despite the rising prices of food. Frozen uncooked turkeys and other food items can be picked up during the drive-thru event.( The Atlanta Journal Constitution) One person has been detained in connection to the death of Gwinnett County first grade teacher, Alexandra Morales, in Mexico. Authorities have not yet released any information about the person who has been detained. (WSB Atlanta) Gwinnett County Public Schools has officially named its six Teacher of the Year finalists. They are: Arcado Elementary School first-grade teacher Jamie Garcia Caycho, Puckett's Mill Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Kelly Powell, Berkmar Middle School orchestra teacher Taniesha Pooser, North Gwinnett Middle School media specialist Jenny Stark, Archer High School ninth-grade algebra teacher Lee Allen and Brookwood High School math teacher Erin Thompson. Congrats to all of these teachers who are stepping up to make a difference in children's lives. (Gwinnettdailypost.com) Gwinnett County has announced new tag office hours and has completely eliminated Saturday hours. Beginning January 3, all Gwinnett tag offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. weekdays. However, on Wednesdays offices will stay open until 6 p.m. (Atlanta Journal Constitution) Gwinnett police are looking for a man who robbed two banks in less than a week. Police said the suspect entered a bank near Buford on November 3 and gave a teller a note demanding money and pointing a gun at the teller. Less than a week later, the man appeared in a different bank demanding money but without a gun. If you have any information about this, reach out to local authorities.
