Worcester To Mark 2-Year Anniversary Of Lt. Jason Menard's Death

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester will mark the two-year anniversary of the death of firefighter Lt. Jason Menard on Saturday with a service at his former home fire station. Menard, 39, died on Nov. 13, 2019, while battling a fire in a home along Stockholm Street. Menard's last act was to help another firefighter escape the burning triple-decker home, and he was posthumously awarded a medal for his efforts. The Saturday memorial will be held at the McKeon Road Fire Station, 80 McKeon Road. Firefighters will lead a procession from the nearby Holy Cross soccer field and travel south to the fire station. At the station, local officials will speak about Menard, and there will be a 21-gun salute.
