Need help with car! Please!

I have a Ford Focus that starts and everything when i turn it on. It just smokes, ALOT. I don’t know a lot about cars and I’ve been told its just oil that needs to burn off but i am terrified its gonna blow up if I leave it on. I know the catalytic converter is going out (i tried to get it off so I could replace it but the last bolt is stripped and I don’t have to tools to get it off). My job requires me to be driving and I haven’t been able to use my car so I don’t have a ton of money right now. If you think you can help please email me or text me.
