Job Summary: The Parts Shipping and Receiving Associate verifies records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. He/she ensures proper control of the parts inventory and related administrative functions. Organizational Relationships: Reports to the Parts Manager, interacts with various levels of Dealership management and staff Job Responsibilities: 1. Count, weigh or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verity information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records. 2. Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. 3. Keep all bins, aisles and storage areas clean and clearly labeled. 4. Maintain receiving and shipping records records. 5. Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. 6. Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications. 7. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. 8. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers. 9. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards. Qualifications: 1. Must meet company’s requirements for employment. 2. Must be able to operate machinery (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, etc.). 3. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. 4. One year of experience in a retail or wholesale parts department. 5. Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record. 6. Ability to interpret vendor catalogs. 7. Ability to use parts department computer system. 8. Good communication skills. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: 1. Ability to operate an automobile. 2. Ability to withstand prolonged periods of computer usage and/or data entry. 3. Ability to lift, stand, walk and/or sit for prolonged periods. 4. Ability to work in various working conditions both indoors and outdoors, including but not limited to extreme heat and/or cold, and rain. 5. Ability to kneel, bend, and/or reach above the shoulders. 6. Ability to lift seventy-five pounds.
