The JCC is seeking a daytime maintenance working to work Wednesdays through Sundays from 8 AM to 5 PM. The days of the week of subject to change. There is the opportunity for more responsibility if earned and warranted. Health benefits, paid sick days, and vacation days are available after a 60-day grace period. This maintenance team member will be responsible various tasks around a commercial establishment (with children’s, fitness, swimming and elderly program activities) including but not limited to: • Groundskeeping work: lawn care, exterior cleaning, pool maintenance • Interior building care: HVAC filter cleaning and replacement, floor work, assisting on maintenance and repair projects: • Assists in moving heavy objects such as furniture and equipment for classrooms, meetings, performances and a variety of other purposes. • General cleaning: Restrooms maintenance and cleaning, spills (including human waste). • General labor • Being able to recognize things needing attention and to handle tasks without being instructed to do so. • Perform any and all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor and/or Facilities Director required to maintain a large social agency. Additional expectations: • Ability to work as part of the maintenance team as well as with the entire staff • Exhibit customer service skills in front of our members • Willingness to do tasks outside of your normal responsibilities if necessary • Willingness to work on some national holidays as well as holidays specific to our building. • Ensure all daily room set-up requirements are satisfied • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of furniture, project materials, or garbage. • Ability to work on a ladder and get on the ground to do work at ground lever or in small crawl spaces. • Ability to work outdoors in hot or cold environments. The JCC is seeking a Night Custodian to work Mondays through Fridays. For the right candidate, the JCC is open to considering those interested in full time (3 PM – 11:59 PM) work. These days and hours are subject to change and there is the opportunity for more responsibility if earned and warranted. The night custodian will be responsible for cleaning various room types in a commercial establishment that includes children’s, fitness, swimming and elderly program activities. In addition to the cleaning duties, the evening custodian may be expected to perform other related work as required, in an effort to provide students, members and staff with safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient facility in which to learn, enjoy and teach. Candidates should have experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and be receptive to further instruction regarding the appropriate type of chemicals to use in different situations and the appropriate methods to use them in our facility. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position’s responsibilities: 1. Empties trash in classrooms, offices, hallways and bathrooms. 2. Vacuums classrooms, offices and other areas within the building. 3. Cleaning bathroom fixtures. 4. Washes and dry mops classrooms, hallway floors, bathrooms, office and other public areas. 5. Strips, washes, waxes and buffs floors as required. 6. Sweeps all floors and stairways. 7. Washes windows and glass doors. 8. Stocks bathrooms with necessary supplies and paper goods. 9. Secure and lock school buildings at the end of business day. 10. Assists in moving heavy objects such as: furniture and equipment for meetings, performances and a variety of other purposes. 11. Attend in service training for custodial service employees as required for continued employment. 12. Set an example for the other custodians in regard to neatness of appearance, friendly relations with other school employees, courtesy to the public, and in devotion to the job. 13. Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor and/or Facilities Director.
