Requirements Being an Automotive Dispatcher and Solutions Advisor can be demanding but even more rewarding. The business is relying on you. You are the conductor of the facility. You will be delegating repairs to technicians, developing relationships with our customers, and using your skills and knowledge to advise a technician, customer, or fellow consultant. Because you are the heartbeat of P&M, it is imperative that this be the right relationship for both P&M and you as a candidate. To be considered for this crucial role, please embody the following: • Experience- Knowledge in various aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance with 1-2 years of related work experience. • Professionalism- As with all first impressions, you don’t get a second chance. Which is why it is essential that, as P&M’s representative, you conduct yourself in manner ideal for such a key role. Meaning, in addition to hygienic appearance and demeanor, one must also be mannerly, amiable, and agreeable. • Principles- While this is a bridge position, meaning it is both shop dispatcher and advisor, aspects relate to sales. Our consultants must encourage and promote recommendations with ethics and integrity. We coach and counsel with honest information and transparency. • Aptitude- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and computer software relating to both diagnostics as well as repair management, as well as problem-solving skills • Communication- It is incumbent that those in a position to advise customers, as well as delegate and confer on repair orders with technicians, be excellent at not only communicating clearly and effectively, but have equally great listening skills. We can’t offer solutions if we don’t listen. A successful dispatching consultant doesn’t simply hear, but listens. • Credentials- As P&M has partnered with multiple government departments as well as corporations, we by contract are required to maintain a drug-free environment. As such, potential candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening in addition to a criminal background check, and maintain a suitable driving record with a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities As P&M Automotive’s Dispatch and Advisor, you will be utilizing your fundamental skills to betterment of the business. Offering solutions when they are most needed, be it for customers, fellow advisors, and/or technicians. You are the liaison. Throughout your journey, you will build quality relationships based on honesty and trust. As such, when you accept this position there are certain privileges and commitments. • Collaborate with customers, advisors, and technicians. Communication is the most widely used tool in your arsenal. Transparency is vital. • Welcoming customers at times be it in office or over the phone with the excellence they have come to expect from P&M. The same excellence you would desire to be offered were the roles reversed. • Crafting informative and clear recommendations in a manner that is respectful and understandable including assurances and saving potential. • Strategizing to clearly and effectively prioritize work with safety always being paramount. Economics are a factor for most. Some customers will be able to approve and trust all recommendations without consideration, many however, will prioritize according to their budget and financial status. • Detail your recommendations, diagnoses, and repairs. Use narratives and photo evidence to educate our valued customers. We at P&M don’t want to just tell our customers what their vehicles need, we want to offer them the evidence and tools to make their own informed decisions based on thorough and truthful counsel. • Shaping schedules of customers and technicians with respect to appointments, transport, and estimated repair time. • Balance is the key to thriving in this role.
