Description
I am a retired, 64 yr old drummer, who specializes in 60's, British Invasion, American Pop & Rock cover music mostly. I have formed my own bands since 1998 that have covered era's from 50's-70's and have always kept my bands very busy and working @ $100 per man minimum in Bay Ridge, & Staten Island. I currently run, a very successful 1960's Tribute band called Pushing 60's. So, why am I looking for another? Great question, glad you asked! Because I am exhausted running bands, getting them to where I have already booked 16 gigs and more to come for 2022, and I have band mates that feel their other bands need more of their time, they no longer have enough time to put into this band, and, or, that playing 2x locally is not a good idea, even though that is exactly what we have been doing in 2021 and doing very well doing so! They want me to cancel gigs i already have set up. Sorry, I want, I need, to play minimum of 2 gigs per month locally, more, outside the area should they present themselves. The local gigs, 2 per month, are spaced 2 weeks apart specifically so I do not saturate the area. I would love to find a situation, a "WORKING" situation, where a band needs a drummer who is reliable, dependable, learns his parts at home, not in the studio on band time, who has a following who will support any band I am in! I have Pro gear, my own transportation, lots of venue contact, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I am an asset! What I lack in playing skills, is made up, in everything else I bring to the table! I am a solid, simple, pocket drummer! I am not a hired gun, nor a merc by any means! I do not sing, and I do not read music. I am a self taught drummer. I love playing, but I play to supplement my income more so than just for the love of playing! I have some physical limitations due to back and leg issues, so if Im going to move my gear up and down my staircase, it has to be worth it! You want to see and hear me play? Go to www.facebook.com/groups/pushingsixties There you will find many phone videos as well as on youtube under Pushing 60's What I expect are musicians who are tasked with learning songs that we've heard a million times and should have played as well, to learn their stuff at home, and when you show up to practices, it should be to figure out beginnings and endings and figuring out harmonies. I'm fed up with people who are much more skilled and talented than I ever will be, wasting my time and money in studios learning their parts! I am at practices 1/2 hr before start time and gigs, 2 hours before start time. I pride myself on being on time and prepared. You should as well!! Tony
