Transgender Awareness Week is to help raise the visibility of transgender people and address issues members of the community face. To kickoff Transgender Awareness Week, RCGA & TDOR Omaha are holding a rally to unveil their "Lighting the Way" banners on Sunday at 3 pm at 6050 Dodge Street at Memorial Park's Dodge Street pedestrian overpass! During the week RCGA will be coordinating with various business and government entities to have structure lights on the Bob Kerry Bridge and other buildings along Dodge. St. changed to blue, pink and white ... the trans community's traditional colors! Transgender Awareness Week culminates in Transgender Day of Remembrance and RCGA/TDOR Omaha's event at First United Methodist Church, 7020 Cass St., Omaha on Saturday, November 20th!
