For women whose lives include loving a person with an addiction, no matter if the person is still active in their addiction or in recovery. Learn to Identify and Manage Your Monkey Chatter Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios is hosting a special Live Well Workshop as the holidays ramp up for women whose lives include loving a person with an addiction, no matter if the person is still active in their addiction or in recovery.  We are hosting Margaret Swift Thompson, Owner and Family Addiction Specialist of Embrace Family Recovery.  From Thanksgiving through the New Year Celebrations, I call this the most challenging time for addiction of any kind and mental health issues. How do you love yourself and them with tools that protect you from the disease, and mostly from your Monkey Chatter? This 60-minute workshop will help answer those questions.  There will be a pre-work worksheet sent to attendees before the workshop so you can start exploring thoughts on your own before we meet, so we can really dig in on the 29th. What is Monkey Chatter?  What drives it? Learn strategies to manage it. Boundaries – no is a complete sentenceTeflon – how to let other’s words and opinions slide to the floor and not stickPrioritize self-care – what are my needs to be my most healthy selfShine a light on the chatter and it lessens the power it holds over usWant an Intro into Monkey Chatter?  Check out Margaret's podcast explaining Monkey Chatter HERE. Date:  Monday, November 29th Time:  6:30pm-7:30pm Location:  Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios Cost:  FREE RSVP:  Required  About Margaret:  I crawled into recovery in 1997, having run out of options and full of despair. My addicted partner had left me, I was consumed with hurt and anger I denied, while still obsessed with him. I needed others to show me how to focus on myself which, in all honesty, terrified me.  Not only do I have a history of long-term recovery, I enjoyed a rewarding counseling career, spanning decades where I was privileged to work with thousands of people impacted by addiction. I was mentored by incredible professionals in the field of addiction throughout my  20 + years at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Brett Dorrian Artistry studios is a luxury media makeup and photography studio in the NE Minneapolis Arts District providing services to private clients and business clients for weddings, headshots, lessons, and family shoots.  www.brettdorrian.com
