Description
Spread some holiday cheer with us! Join Barrett School of Music at the Santa Fest Parade through Downtown Tampa with Mayor Castor We are taking our students to sing their holiday favorites! Don't take voice lessons? That's ok! You can be a student of any instrument with us and still join in the fun. (Past and future students welcome!) The parade begins at the intersection of Pierce Street and Madison Street and will head west from the starting point; then turn north on Ashley Drive, ending at Curtis Hixon Park. This year, we will also have a festively decorated truck (courtesy of Alair Homes - South Tampa), so our youngest carolers can ride along! Did you know Santa will be waiting for us there?! Bring your whole family at make a day out of it. We will hold one hour-long rehearsal in the evening on Friday, December 3rd. (Ask your teacher for details.) During this rehearsal, we will make sure that everyone knows the lyrics and is comfortable with pitch. That's it! If your child would feel more comfortable with a private voice lesson ahead of time, we can set that up too. On the day of the event, caroling students can dress up in their most festive outfit, all accessories are encouraged! We will meet at our lineup position at 12:30pm on Saturday to rehearse and organize. All Barrett School of Music families can stand together along the parade route, cameras ready! And don't worry - our professional photographer will be walking with us, so you'll have great photos of your kids afterwards! The 1 mile walk should take us about 30-45 minutes, putting us in Curtis Hixon park between 2-2:15pm, free to enjoy the rest of the event! Here at The Barrett School of Music we pride ourself on the well-rounded nature of our studio. Teachers in our studio either hold music degrees or are currently working towards completing either a B.A in Music or a B.A in Music Education. We believe that the balance of education and performance experience is critical to being both effective teachers as well as musicians, thus, illuminating the importance of hiring instructors who preform regularly. The instruments that we instruct here at The Barrett School of Music are Piano, Voice, Guitar, Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass. In addition to weekly lessons, we offer a variety of performance opportunities, workshops, summer camps, master classes and much more throughout the calendar year to allow our students to apply and musical knowledge that they obtain in our both private one-on-one and group lessons. Regardless of age, skill level or depth of study of the student, we are here to help you set your own musical goals and fulfill them! We understand the meaning of Family and the benefits of having music in the household, but we are not blind to the difficulties in making music lessons a part of the weekly schedule. For this reason we offer In-Home Private Lessons to make the joys of having a musical house easier. Let Us Come To You!
