Description
ANDOVER, MA — Andover's Select Board will begin discussion of 2022 property taxes Monday, according to the board's agenda.
The Board must vote on the town's "classification" for Fiscal Year 2022, the breakdown of residential versus commercial property taxes.
Monday's meeting will be the first reading. There will be no vote taken.
In Fiscal Year 2021, the board voted for a 159 percent shift, meaning commercial and industrial taxpayers will pay 159 percent of what they would if there was a single tax rate for all classes of taxpayers. Residential taxpayers paid 86.4 percent of that uniform rate.
This meant a $406 increase in the average single-family home bill, to $10,629.
