GREENWICH, CT — A Greenwich man was arrested late last month on felony charges after police said he sold drugs to an 18-year-old town resident who later died of an overdose.
Meshach Kim, 31, was arrested on Oct. 28 following an undercover drug bust by police, according to an arrest report. Kim was charged with criminal attempt at the sale of a controlled substance, criminal attempt at the sale of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics.
Kim was released on a written promise to appear; he's due in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 12.
On Oct. 28, the Greenwich Police Department Narcotics Section was investigating an overdose of an 18-year-old. According to Kim's arrest report, evidence was found at the scene of the overdose that identified him as "a possible source" of the drugs.
Narcotics detectives made contact with Kim and agreed to purchase heroin and fentanyl from him, the arrest report said.
Kim showed up at the agreed upon meeting location and was taken into custody, police said.
The arrest report said officers found three folds of suspected heroin/fentanyl and two pills, which were determined to be controlled substances.
Lt. Martin O'Reilly of the GPD said the investigation into Kim and the overdose death remains ongoing. He would not say if more charges would be filed.
