JACKSON, NJ — A Toms River man was killed Sunday when his pickup truck ran off the road in Jackson, police said.
Kishon Richards, 28, was flown to a local hospital after the crash that happened shortly after 6 p.m., Jackson police confirmed Thursday. He died Sunday evening at the hospital from his injuries, police said.

Richards was driving a 2009 Ford Ranger east on Jackson Mills Road when the truck hit the guardrail in the area of the overpass over Interstate 195, police said. The pickup then ran off the road into some woods and hit some trees, near Harmony Road.
Richards was not wearing his seatbelt and was partially ejected from the pickup truck during the crash, police said.
Police are still trying to determine why Richards ran off the road.
