Here are the top stories today in Austin: The Austin Fire Department has arrested a man Wednesday they believe is responsible for intentionally setting fire to an Austin synagogue on Halloween night. (Austin Patch) At UT-Austin, the student organization Cops Off Campus has made a name for itself with highly publicized demonstrations to remove the UT Police Department from campus. (Austin Chronicle) An Amber alert was issued for a t-year-old Austin girl who police say was abducted Thursday morning. (Austin Patch) Austin FC and former U.S. men's national team defender and Matt Besler, who spent 13 seasons in Major League Soccer and was a five-time All-Star, announced his retirement Wednesday. (KXAN.com) A federal judge ruled Wednesday that Gov. Greg Abbott's executive order prohibiting mask mandates in schools violates the Americans with Disabilities Act — freeing local officials to again create their own rules.
