District 146, Jewel-Osco To Hold Vaccination Event For Students

TINLEY PARK, IL — Jewel-Osco is teaming up with District 146 officials to host a vaccination event for local families Saturday, Nov. 13. The vaccine clinic will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Central Middle School. Children ages 5-11-years-old will be able to attend and receive the first dose of a Pfizer vaccine. Officials told Patch the event does not mean vaccination against COVID-19 is a requirement for students attending school in the district, but rather an opportunity for children to receive the vaccine in a familiar place. Anyone wishing to attend the event will still need to schedule an appointment through the Jewel-Osco registration portal. No proof of insurance, immigration status or residence will be required to attend. The second dose will also be available at Central Middle School on Dec. 4. "Thanks to Jewel-Osco Pharmacy for providing this opportunity and thank you for helping keep our schools and community safe," school officials said in a statement.
