NEWTOWN, PA — Friends, family, and loved ones of Christine Englehardt will gather on the morning of Nov. 20 to celebrate her life with a one-mile memorial walk. Further, local organization SharingWell has established the Christine Englehardt Memorial 5K Race to End Sexual Assault, which community members can register for in spring 2022.
Englehardt, a 24-year-old from Richboro, was found dead in her hotel room on spring break in Miami in March of 2021. Investigators believe she was drugged with oxycodone and raped. Two men are now facing first-degree murder charges in her death.
The daughter of Thomas and Doreen Englehardt and a beloved manager at Jules Thin Crust Pizza, Christine was described as someone "who could light up a room with her infectious laugh and vibrant energy," who also brought a "bubbly personality, immense care for others and hard work ethic" to her endeavors.
Community members will gather in her memory at the Council Rock North High School Track on 62 Swamp Rd between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Nov. 20, rain or shine. Organizers said donations are appreciated.
"Through adversity and anguish we come together to keep Christine's memory alive," organizers wrote in a flyer sharing the event. "Come join us as we remember her life, laughter, and kind-hearted spirit."
Further, local organization SharingWell will host a memorial 5K for Englehardt in spring 2022, "to celebrate and honor Christine's life, provide support to her family, empower other victims who are affected by sexual abuse, violence and trauma, and most importantly, eliminate future tragedies."
SharingWell hopes to one day create a nonprofit in her memory.
