Good Old Blues Stand-Up Bass Wanted
If you opened this up, thanks. You're good, or old, or hopefully both, so please read on.
Here's the plan: an established & experienced harp player has refined his focus and wants to play primarily acoustic Blues.
YOU should be a skilled (hopefully gig experienced) blues bass player that can play in a stripped down 3 or 4 piece band. (I sing, so you don't need to.)
I am a blues guy in temperament. I don't play strictly blues songs, but play everything in a blues style. Generally, this really means that I play with a quieter volume and softer attitude. It suits most of the smaller venues (where I like to play.)
I like playing out. I like getting paid. But you can't pay me enough to play if it isn't fun. If it is a fun venue for folks that appreciate good live blues, then any $$ is just a bonus. (I also play some private events.)
I like day gigs (no more 9-midnight!). I want to play some good blues music and have some fun doing it.
If it ain't fun, it ain't happening!
(Note: My objective is to secure one regular monthly weekend gig that pays well enough so that I can afford to play some less lucrative local gigs just because they are fun.)
I am looking for a very specific guy:
OLD (shall we suggest 50+ but we won't exclude you if you're only a whippersnapper)
TALENTED (see above)
AVAILABLE (one weekday or weekend day per week for practice OR gig)
LOVES THE BLUES (again, see above)
VAXED--we're both old guys and need to be careful. Unvaccinated? Sorry, it's a deal breaker.
