LIVERMORE, CA — Extra parking spaces will soon be available in downtown Livermore.
The Livermore Downtown association reminded residents this week that the city's "flex zone" parking policy will soon be entering a transition period.
The flex zone policy has been in place since 2005 and allows restaurants to utilize their storefront parking spots as seating areas in spring, summer and early fall, the association said.
Those areas are returned to parking spots when the first rains of October roll around, just in time for the holiday shopping season, the association said. Storefront parking spots are more convenient for shoppers braving inclement weather.
If you're a fan of al fresco dining, don't worry.
"Sidewalk patios and plaza seating is still available for our sunnier winter days," the association said.
